PRODUCTION PLANNER - MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR - WATERFORD

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is a Waterford based Mechanical & Process Engineering
consultancy working with life science clients

As a Project/Production Planner, you will play a crucial role in
ensuring the efficient and on-time completion of projects. 

You will be responsible for coordinating and planning
construction/production activities, managing project schedules, and
optimizing resource allocation to meet project deadlines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with project managers to develop project schedules,
timelines, and milestones.

Create and maintain project plans, considering resource availability
and constraints.

Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to ensure on-time
delivery.

Prepare Contract/Project Programmes and Monthly Progress Reports.

Allocate manpower, equipment, and materials efficiently to meet
project requirements.

Ensure the availability of necessary resources and coordinate with
procurement and HR departments as needed.

Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand
while optimizing production efficiency.

Ensure that production processes adhere to quality standards and
safety regulations.

Analyze critical path and constraints to determine the effect of
changes to the schedule.

Recommend workarounds and provide forward insight to mitigate project
risks.

Develop and update weekly short interval schedules, working closely
with supervisors and project engineers.

Monitor progress trends, outputs, and resources across projects.

Increase the knowledge database for the project teams and identify
developing problem areas.

Work closely with the project team to assist with planning and
schedule-related activities.

Develop, maintain, and foster collaborative relationships with the
wider project team, supply chain, and other project stakeholders.

Challenge, critique, and explore alternative construction solutions to
drive continuous improvement and optimum solutions on the project.

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the supply chain team to
ensure adequate stock of materials and components.

Implement inventory control measures to reduce waste and improve
cost-efficiency.

Act as a liaison between project teams, production teams, and other
relevant departments.

Facilitate communication to resolve any conflicts or issues that may
arise during project execution.

Collect and analyze data related to project and production
performance.

Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track
progress and identify areas for improvement.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field.

3 years+ proven experience as a Project/Production Planner or in a
similar role within the M&E industry.

Strong understanding of project management principles and production
processes.

Proficiency in project management software and tools.

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems is a plus.
